Life, Thoughts

Hello There!

Hello there! Well, it’s definitely been a loong time since I’ve last posted here and it is totally my fault. How have you been? I have been trying to catch up on your posts the past couple of days now that I am behind a computer and have some time on my hands.

Since it’s been almost a month since I’ve last posted, I thought I’d catch up with you first. How does that sound?Hello!

Let’s see… I have to say, the last few weeks has been a bit of a whirlwind.  I was wrapping up with things at my last company which meant I was winding down my desk.  They didn’t want to pay me out on the leave I had left, so I was forced to use it or lose it.

I wasn’t going to lose out on it, so I took it for sure. Which then meant I found myself with a bit of time on my hands and I didn’t want to waste it all in Singapore. So what do you think I did? HA

All of a sudden, I had booked myself a long weekend to Luang Prabang, Laos. I had heard amazing things about Luang Prabang so with a week to spare, I had flights and a hotel booked. Hello! And you can’t go to Luang Prabang without heading to Kuang Si Falls. What a gorgeous, gorgeous place!! Hello!Of course I’ll take you there, through the blog! Which also means I am soo behind on blogging. I’ll get there, I promise!!

I had a couple of days to chill out in Singapore taking care of life admin before I started at my new job. I started on 1 June and as my team and boss sit in the Sydney office, they asked I head down there for the week!  I had never been to Australia, so I was pretty excited about that!! Hello! Now I’m back in Singapore and trying to get back into a normal routine.  I went for my first F45 session last night in a long time and oh em gee. That kicked my ass! But it felt good to be working out again as I definitely think I’ve put on some weight the last few weeks.

I’m also having a bit of a life crisis, so the trip to Luang Prabang also allowed me to think a bit on what I need to work on. It’s been a lot of self reflection and realizing that maybe I am to blame as well. Sigh. I feel like I end up making the same mistakes and I can’t seem to get out of this vicious cycle. It’s definitely one thing knowing you’re in it, but it’s another getting out of it. I am trying to find the tools to help me out of this cycle so that I can move happily forward in my life. Do you have any tips for me?

Anyway, the next few weeks I’ll be staying put in Sing Sing and soaking in as much time as possible with two good friends who are leaving at the end of the month. 🙁

But then there’s a wedding to attend in Bali for a very dear friend end at the end of June.  I’ll be back in Sing for a hot second before heading to NYC to surprise my dad for his 70th! I cannot wait to see my family and also meet my newest nephew!!

Hope you’re well, friend! I’ve missed you dearly!

That’s not a bad vaca to use your leave for! I would have had done the same. I normally use my free days instead of getting paid. 🙂

  • Glad to hear from you!! I was wondering what you were up to. And kudos to you for the self-reflection! That’s not easy to do.

  • There’s nothing like a good getaway to recenter and reevaluate. Anytime I feel off or lost, I always find myself again when I’m around my family or the friends who know me best. Somehow everything comes into perspective. Congrats on the new job and have fun with your friends and at the wedding!
