It’s the last few days before Christmas and I thought I’d pop in and say, What’s up?
It’s been quiet on the blog again but, but I plan on being more active again this week. Because you know, everyone is off traveling home for the holidays and things are a little quieter. Perfect timing to whip up some posts and try and catch up with Morocco and Ipoh. Will these future posts just get lost in the interwebs for no one to see? Hmm. I tell you, my timing is impeccable!
But I thought I’d fill you in on real life. You know, what’s actually been happening around these neck of the woods because I’m not in Marrakech anymore. In case you haven’t figured that out. HA
I’ve been sick. Like sick with a cold. Pretty much every week or so since I got to Marrakech. So yeah, it’s been almost 2 months of it. Argh. I normally get sick about 2x a year. What in the world is happening to me? So today, I am finally better although you should have heard me over this weekend. If you follow me on Snapchat (no? go! do it now @jewelswandering!!), then maybe you heard my very throaty voice that then became squeaky. I asked Leroy if he liked my new voice and it was a resounding no. 🙁 But seriously, I was all excited to get back on the work out train and that just has not happened. Sigh.
So I’m starting to count my macros. Rather, I am attempting to count my macros. Do you this? How tedious! And well, I haven’t gotten to the point where I am counting my macros 100% but I’m finding that to be a challenge. Any tips?
Leroy and I have been traipsing through Singapore trying to explore as much as possible. I will get around to blogging about it, one day… So we’ve gone to check out the Southern Ridges and Haw Par Villa. Haw Par Villa is super strange in a weird way – just wait for it!
Even though I was home in NYC a few weeks ago, I got hit with a bad case of homesickness today. I was walking into the office this morning and realized how much Singapore has emptied out. And then I realized, if I were to have gone home for Christmas, I would be in NYC right now. But nope. Here I am in Singapore.
No need to shed a tear for me though! Luckily, I will be celebrating with Ana, Chun and Leroy on Christmas Eve. I celebrate Christmas Eve! And I will be attempting to recreate the feast that my mom usually makes. Wish me luck! And really, it’ll be nice to have a long weekend here and rest up some more.
And do shed a tear for me now… Leroy is heading back to New Zealand shortly. Hence why we have been going around Singapore like loons. But also create some memories together before it becomes long distance. And oh man. I can’t say I’m looking forward to that! Long distance sucks and if you’ve been around this blog long enough, you know I’m no stranger to it. I have high hopes though and while it’s never easy, it’s definitely not impossible.
Anyway, should be a fairly quiet 2 weeks at work and the goal is to whip up more posts. So come back and see me, perhaps while you’re on the road going to your destination? 😉
What are your plans for Christmas?
